I was delighted to recently have been approached by a mental health and well–being charity to deliver an extended training session on helping people get the most out of their mobile phone photography. I’ll also be introducing mindfulness and self care through photography.
Jean’s Bothy is a community hub in Helensburgh, Argyle and Bute here in Scotland. It is a community hub that is focussing in mental health and well-being. The centre opened after partnership working between Argyll and Bute Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP), Enable Scotland, the Ministry of Defence and The Third Sector Interface (TSI), with a grant also received from the Big Lottery Fundi.
The project supports a wide range of people and helps connect community groups with each other and with other sources of support that exist locally.
It also offers a meeting place for members, including vulnerable individuals who are at risk of becoming isolated from their community, and is a place for members to increase their confidence, skills and meet others through friendship, events, activities and volunteering.
